About Us
We acknowledge the Wadi Wadi tribe, are the traditional custodians of country and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and future.
Tasman Park Children's Centre is a family owned Centre by Jacqui Wakefield.
The Centre is light and spacious, with an open plan that ensures that supervision of the children is maintained, no matter where you are in the Centre. We believe that providing a "home like" environment allows children to transition into formal care in a smooth comforting way.
The Centre is on half an acre, which backs on to scenic bush land in Park Road at St Georges Basin. We have a beautiful garden setting, with natural grass and features providing the children with freedom and space to explore .
"As soon as you walk in the door, you can see the time and effort they have put into this Centre to make it a beautiful place for not only the children but also the family and Educators". (South Coast Register)
We have three groups that operate both independently and in conjunction with each other.
Green Group 2-3 yrs, Red Group 3-4yrs and Blue Group 4-5yrs.
The 3-4yrs and 4-5yrs share the play space at this time. The 2-3 yrs play independently allowing the younger children to freely explore and investigate their learning environment in their own way and time.
This may change due to numbers of children enrolled in each group.
Tasman Park is open 8am-4pm weekdays
We are closed for 2 weeks per year over the Christmas break and Public Holidays.
We are a Sunsafe Centre with our policies complying with the Cancer Council of Australia.
We follow the Munch and Move program for healthy eating and exercise throughout the day.
Tasman Park is a Nationally accredited service completing assessment and rating through the Department of Education and Communities. We have a transitional approach to school and implement a preschool program using the Early Years Learning Framework.
